Kråkesølv just released their second album. The first one was released through Tiger record, the very location of this exclusive Rastløs-video of the the new song "den grønne linja".

Hypertext performing a stripped down version of Parallel Circles off their second album, Astronaut Kraut. Six people and amps in a small living room. Cozy and intimate. Hypertext have just kicked off their tour with electro-favorites Casiokids.
This was also my first chance to try out my brand new 5D MkII. Enjoy!

We stumbled upon quite a catch the other day as we were give the opportunity to do a Rastløs video of a true legend. Sonic Boom of former 80s act Spacemen 3 visited Oslo with his ongoing project Spectrum. And with some luck the band decided to perform Spacemen 3´s most famous song, Walkin´with Jesus. Do enjoy!

Shot this great little Rastløs piece a few weeks back. It´s a lovely cover of Ass Ponys´ "Kung Fu Reference" by one of our favorite US indie rockers right now; Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin. An exclusive acoustic session outside café Mono in Oslo.

With neon-lights, ray-guns and spacey sounds Oslo-act Pow Pow shoots out in 6-minute explosion of sound. These guys sound like none others in Norway right now and deserve instant attention.

Rastløs returns from summer with nothing less the a world premiere. Shoegazers Simon Says No have an album just around the corner, and we were given an exclusive preview of the track See Me Through from the upcomming release. Just to shake things up a bit we decided to lock them inside a cage in my basement.

Lovely little video for Le Man Avec Les Lunettes newest song, Crawling Down The Stairs. I met the band a few weeks back shooting a Rastløs video, great folks, great music.

Thought I´d share this video with lots of great macro shots and with a touch of chilled out summer:

We joined Ishak and his band, The freedom machines, on a lovely wooden boat on a beautiful day in Oslo. A few metres from shore we were given a taste of their new album - the first single, You Lived In A World Of Your Own. The band was also joined by Thea Glenton Raknes, singer from Norma Sass and featured vocals on songs by both Monzano and Kvelertak.

When these lovely Italian tweepoppers returned to Norway, we invited them over for a cup of tea, and were given a song in return. This is The Biggest Way off their album with the weirdest of names; Plaskaplaskabombelibom. For this shoot we returned to the lovely Grünerløkka apartment where we shot the very first Rastløs video in January earlier this year.

Our grandest Rastløs yet, at least in numbers. Three very talented Norwegian musicians gathered at Kulturkirken Jacob to rehearse one of their rare collaborative gigs. This Therese Aune penned song, "Something To Say", truly was meant for a full ensemble like this one.

Stereo Total, one of my very own all-time favourites playing ut up at the backstage loft at John Dee. They gave us a cute little cover of Kraftwerk´s "Tour de France". Quite fitting they explained as they were both french and german. The dancing bunny however made little sense...

Avant-garde pop in a cute floppy wrapping. Center of the Universe have just released their new album, Levitating Disk. The celebration took place at Månefisken, we showed up a few hours earlier and was given an exclusive version of Levitating Tune by the Aker river.

Cheers! We´re up to our tenth Rastløs, and what a way to celebrate. Grand Island has one of Norway´s most unique sounds, something they have tweaked and tuned even tighter on their newest release, Östra Knoll 1:22. We met the guys right next to Akerselva, running straight through Oslo. So hands up for one of Norway´s quirkiest bands, here´s the song Suffer/Lid, min kjære.

I had the chance to meet up with some charming people from Bodø last week. Coming out of the lively music scene centered around fresh pop favorites Kråkesølv, Cold Mailman is a new Bodø band worth keeping your eyes on. I visited the guys in a small cozy apartment filled with old furniture and trinkets, where they played the song Time is of the Essence. Have a look for yourself!

Nils Bech is on everyone's tongue these days. The talented young electropop artist from Norway has just released his debut album, Look Back. Electropop might not sound like the best genre to do an acoustic version of, but mr. Bech and sax player Bendik Giske took the challenge and played a beautiful version of the song Curious Love.

My debut as a director, the short film Daggry, has finally reached it´s completion. The story was written by myself and Preben Simonsen and was produced with funds from Filmkraft Rogaland. We shot the film in November last year, and the last few months have been spent on post-production. An amazing team of dedicated actors and film workers have made this a wonderful experience and I can´t wait for everyone to catch the full film.

There will be a short and intimate screening for my friends in Stavanger on Friday April 30th. Hope to see you there!

I'm proud to present one of Australia's greatest pop artists at this week's Rastløs. Sarah Blasko swept across the down under continent last year with the release of her second album As day follows night. Now she's getting ready to lay Europe beneath her feet with beautiful indiepop melodies and a characteristic voice. Blasko played at last weeks Fanzine 12th release party at Internasjonalen, and we met up with her a few hours before the show.

Noise rockers Times New Viking payed Oslo a little visit this easter to promote their quite exclusive Scandinavian only release. A 7" in only 500 copies entitled No Time No hope. The Rastløs track is actually not from this 7", but none the less is an excellent noisy DIY-sounding song and is as always presented in an exclusive acoustic version. Get ready for Teenage Lust!

Last friday I had the unique opportunity to meet up with a fresh and very talented new Norwegian group, the Megaphonic Thrift. For this week's Rastløs the band had rehearsed an exclusive acoustic version of their track Sister Joan. This out of the ordinary event was a five-guitar piece performed at the weird abandoned warehouse venue Indigo, right next to Blå here in Oslo.

Here's a new indie pop favorite of mine. Oslo based Lucy Swann. We took a short walk round St. Hanshaugen park right in the heart of Oslo, and here she is serving us a short but sweet a cappalla version of her song Fashionably Late. You can listen to the instrumental version on her new album, which is out right now. She'll also be going on a short Norwegian tour the coming weeks, including a stop in Stavanger and Kristiansand.

Everyone in Norway has some relationship to the somewhat eccentric man from Bøler named Egil. As a solo artist he´s named himself Bare Egil Band (translates Just Egil Band). Today he took us into the snowy ski tracks behind Bøler to give us a taste of what some lucky people from the coastal town of Ålesund will be able to hear this very weekend. The song is entitled Bjørn Tømmerdal, which is the name of the mayor of Ålesund. Egil has made a ballade on his very own version of Bjørn´s life.

Ok Go relesed their new video for the track "This Too Shall Pass", and you´re not going to believe what they actually pieced together. It´s every kid´s dream come true to make such an eloborate maze of interconnecting domino effects. Major props to director James Frost and Syyn Labs. Have a look for yourself!

Fighting my way through snow and wind to get to Chateu Neuf on the other side of town, I met the Swedish-based band Dag för Dag. What a surprise I was in for, a fresh unique sound of off-beat pop music. Dag för Dag is made up of the American siblings Snavely and the Swedish percussionist only known as Chuck McKensey.

Rastløs in now up and running as a weekly feature on online music magazine groove.no, so stay tuned for some of the greatest bands based in or passing through Oslo.

I recently stumbled across a feature I did a few years ago while I was interning at NRK Lydverket/P3tv. It´s a four-five minute piece where we followed the Norwegian band Turbonger as they released their latest album, Retox. Check out this fun little piece featuring an intersting interview with some shocking revelations on their record cover among others.

For those of you who still have´nt seen this little piece of beauty, I just have a few words; sexy, hypnotic imagery. There´s just something wrong with you if you can´t appreciate yellow-painted naked bodies running through the desert looking for some multicolored weird shape!

"Ambling Alp" by Yeasayer from Secretly Jag on Vimeo.

Yeasayers´s new album Odd Blood is out now and features a much more dance-oriented sound then their debut, All Hour Cymbals. Odd Blood is packed with indie dance tunes and fresh supprising musical turns and twitches.

So.. This blog hasn´t seen the light of day for months now... I´ve been extremely busy, getting a music festival running smoothly and producing my first short film. More news to follow on this new short, which is just a few weeks away from completion.

But today I reveal the Gerilja project in a new wrapping. In collaboration with Norwegian online music magazine Groove.no the project is now entitled "Rastløs". A fabulous Norwegian word that roughly translates restless.

First out we present to you Oslo-based indie-poppers Manzano with their track "yes, we can´t". A great little pop tune with obvious connotations to a presedential campaign I´m sure we´re all far too familiar with.
